Gwehelog Red Size:Kirchensaller Tudwal was a Welsh saintA Welsh perry pear from Monmouthshire. Good enough for a single variety perry. Round green pear almost completely covered with russet and some red orange flush. First flowers early April. Harvest early September. Discovered and named in 2002 by Dave Matthews on a farm in Gwehelog, near Raglan. Well balanced perry with a distinctive aroma. Permission to use photograph by the Welsh Perry and Cider Society is gratefully acknowledged.
