Something along the line of a scannable code on cards to verify authenticity would get the job done, but implementing the program would be costly, and it wouldn't help with all the cards that are currently in print (barring some sort of mass-exchange program, which would be even more prohibitively expensive)

This means that Hex is slightly less expensive than Magic Online (by about 15%), while more expensive than Hearthstone or Eternal (although the advantage over Magic Online diminishes if you switch decks often thanks to the significantly worse spread for selling cards)
This becomes an issue, because in a four-player game with all things being equal, you only win one out of four games
